 The fifty five-mile Mulholland Scenic Parkway and Corridor is one of the most famous thoroughfares in the country. Constructed in 1924, twenty four-mile Mulholland Drive in the City of Los Angeles was envisioned by the famous Water Bureau Chief and City Engineer, William D. Mulholland, as a scenic road that would transport city dwellers to the mountains and beaches. The winding route starts west of the 101 Freeway in Hollywood, and offers panoramic city, mountain and ocean views. Eight miles of the Scenic Parkway from the 405 freeway west to Woodland Hills remain unpaved, and are subject to closure.

 

Mulholland Corridor

“It’s not the destination but the travelling that counts” and if it’s the Mulholland Scenic Parkway and Corridor you’re taking, you’ll definitely agree! Known to be among the country’s most prominent thoroughfares, Mulholland Corridor has amazed countless families, friends, couples and individuals for almost nine decades. Built in 1924, William D. Mulholland who was a renowned water bureau chief and city engineer started with the twenty four mile Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles. His goal was to craft a road that would give city folks access to the beaches and the mountains.
 
The thoroughfare is comprised of fifty five breathtaking miles. The winding road begins West of 101 Freeway, in Hollywood, offering scenic views of pure natural wonder. The Mulholland Drive leads to Franklin Canyon Park and Fryman Canyon Park. Seven scenic overlooks are maintained by the Conservancy for visitors, meanwhile the Mulholland Highway starts at Calabasas and twists through the mountains of Santa Monica then to Leo Carrillo State Beach.
